New York State Marine Spatial Planning

In marine spatial planning, an important ocean use to consider in is the disribution and haitat use of marine animals. It is of particular interest to know the temporal and spatial distribution of the many endangered marine animal species that inhabit the Northwest Atlantic, including the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale. To support the Marine Spatial Planning efforts for the state of New York, the New England Aquarium, along with the help of Dr. Bob Kenney of the University of Rhode Island, created a series of seasonal distribtions for a list of individual marine animal species as well as grouped species categories for New York waters.

(Note: Only pooled category distributions are made avaialable here)
